Statistics department was established and started working as a individual department in the year 1999 with the P.G. Program. Prof.  K.B. Rajole was the Founder Head of the Department (1999 - 2005).

Presently, the department imparts B.Sc. and M.Sc. courses. The courses cover the major topics required for NET(National Eligibility Test) , ISS (Indian Statistical Services) and other competitive examinations. Besides, our syllabus and training is appreciated by various organizations/ industries, which is evident from the number and type of placements of our students.

Statistics with Computer Skills:

Two papers on computers are included in the PG syllabus, enabling students to write their own programs for statistical tools, as well as use packages to their advantage. A module on computer packages and programming has been added in order to improve employment opportunities. A well-equipped computer laboratory is maintained and students get ample time to work on the programs.

Invited lectures:

Department arranged lectures of renowned professors time to time to guide and motivate the students for better upliftment in their career.

Internship/ Project in UG and PG Programs:

Last-semester internship/project form part of the unified Syllabus in both UG and PG courses as per UGC guidelines and this helps in developing the job oriented skills among students.  This allows the students to gain first hand information, experience and certificate of training from different organizations/industries in and around Indore, and also gain insight into research/real life problems where statistics can be applied.
